Samantha Haesemeyer, Psy.D.
Postdoctoral Psychologist
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to feel disconnected from ourselves. Stress, anxiety, and even physical symptoms can often be signals that our minds and bodies are longing for greater harmony. That’s where I come in. I specialize in health psychology, a fascinating field that explores the intricate relationship between our psychological, emotional, and physical well-being. I believe that true healing and lasting change come from addressing the whole person, not just isolated symptoms. I completed my doctoral education in clinical psychology at Adler University in Chicago, IL (APA accredited) and have practiced in diverse settings including geriatric inpatient, chronic pain, hospitals, and the VA. I am certified in treatments for insomnia, chronic pain, and cognitive screenings with additional experience working with weight management, tinnitus, mood, grief, PTSD and adjustment.
My Approach:
I offer a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where we can explore your unique experiences and challenges together. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, but it’s also deeply personalized. I take the time to truly understand your story, your values, and your goals. We’ll work together to develop strategies that empower you to:
- Manage stress and anxiety: Learn practical techniques to calm your mind and body, even in the midst of daily stressors.
- Improve sleep quality: Discover how to create healthy sleep habits and wake up feeling refreshed and energized.
- Enhance your overall well-being: Explore the mind-body connection and cultivate a greater sense of balance and peace.
- Cultivate healthy habits: Make lasting changes in areas like nutrition, exercise, and mindfulness.
Why Choose Me?
Beyond my professional expertise, I bring a genuine sense of empathy and compassion to every session. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth and healing, and I’m honored to be a guide on that journey. I’m committed to creating a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings openly. I’m a safe space for kink, LGBTQ+, non traditional relationships, and diverse racial and cultural identities.
More Than Just Talk Therapy:
As a health psychologist, I go beyond traditional talk therapy. We may incorporate mindfulness techniques, relaxation exercises, and other mind-body practices into our sessions, depending on your individual needs and preferences. I believe in empowering you with practical tools that you can use in your daily life to promote lasting wellness.

Conceptual Framework of the Center:
Mental health (emotional wellness) treatment that incorporates the body (movement and sensory interventions), nature/Earth (being outdoors and elements of nature), and spirit (shared elements between nature, human bodies, and the universe).
eMOTION Center for Wellness (eCW) was established to complement traditional talk therapy. eCW takes an integrative and holistic approach that combines traditional talk therapy with other modalities. At its core eCW is designed to support a person’s mental health by respecting the totality of our existence. The services and space incorporate that of the Mind in the form of traditional talk therapy; Body through movement and engagement with the five senses; Nature/Earth through being outdoors and exposed to the five elements of nature; and Spirit/Energy through holding awareness of the “essence” that connects us, nature, and the universe while respecting that each person may define that essence differently. This concept was used to identify the services that would be provided by the center and carried through to the design of the space in which these services are delivered.
